Lets help you get started

Do you offer a trial class?
Absolutely! Your first day of training at Toyama Jiu Jitsu is completely free, come along to see what you think, and ask as many questions as you need. 

What do I bring to my first class?
Depending on if you attend a Gi class, please bring along a Gi if you own one, if not we will have one for you to borrow for the session! If you attend a NoGi class, a rashguard and shorts will fit you right in. And of course, a water bottle!


Please also arrive 10 minutes early to meet the team and instructors, as well as sign the waiver form.​


Who can attend your classes?
Anyone! No prior experience is needed to get started, and our classes cater to all levels. 

What is the Fundamental Techniques class?
This class is specifically designed for those more fresh to BJJ and wanting to kick-start their learning. Classes focus on refining and establishing the core techniques required in BJJ. There is no belt requirement for this class. 

Is BJJ good exercise?
Definitely! BJJ will push and train your body coordination, balance, cardiovascular capacity, flexibility and endurance, whilst being fun and well supported by a friendly community!

What if I train elsewhere or my attire has other academies logos on it?
No worries at all! We believe in being accessible and welcoming to all.
